A Quick Lesson About Sanctions and Fascism

The brilliant plan behind some strange activity in the Gulf region over the past 20 or so years. These guys are good!
  • 80s: US funds Saddam's regime despite fact that Saddam murders for fun. He targets civilians (Kurds) for attacks using US supplied gas and bio-weapons (cheap US weapons testing), Bob Dole himself saw it fit to travel to Iraq a week after Halabja and reiterate our appreciation for the testing. Despite ten years of supporting war, we never really justified involvement in the area publicly, yet it boosted arms sales magnificently. That was easy!
  • Gulf War I: After first privately approving annexation of Kuwait, US 'responds' by launching GWI, destroys public infrastructure making life hard for everyone in Iraq but Saddam and his republican gaurd. The dead and wounded were local conscripts forced into military service as cannon fodder. The war was on parts of Iraqi infrastructure, aimed at destroying the daily lives of the Iraqis in the North and South where the fighting occured, not coincidentally the home to the only real military challenge to Saddam. Bush double-crosses the Kurdish rebels so they are routed, and leaves Saddam's regime in place over a stone-age-ified populace. Now, Saddam can more easily target opposition militants now flushed out into the open by our little joke that we'd actually provide military support to them. The real purpose of the war was to solidify Saddam's rule, justify the installation of the current regimen of UN SACTIONS, ultimately providing the US some price control over global oil markets and ensuring the reliability of necessary oil supply while also funding Saddam. Oil necessary for what? Necessary to burn. Why must we burn so much fossil feul? Look for that next week on AOE!
  • Gulf War II: We've started consuming more oil than we can get at the market prices we like and are chaffing under the limits on flow from Iraq and our inability to control the smuggled oil market as we planned. We need to burn more oil than even these great sanctions could provide us! Luckily, After ten years of 'enjoying' sactions, the massively mis-treated civilians of Iraq are now feabled enough for Colonization through Liberation - American Style! Great Work Saddam, it's finally OUR OIL! Soon, the Great American Liberator's troops shall pour into Baghdad to cheering crowds (we can pay people to show up too. Just like we taught Saddam!), but not until after the massive war efforts have filled the coffers of THE ALLIES OF EVIL (Yeah! .com, .com, .com, baby!), the Cheney/Bush family death machine (Carlyle Group and Halliburton, etc.) and the rest of the Military Industrial Complex with the sweat-money of the American lower and middle classes! Cash moving up to AOE's pockets left and right in this one. "Best War Ever, Man."
So, we attained the stated Corporatist goal of controlled state-state Trade through the unlikely vehicel of UN sanctions. Sanctions are said to be doing one thing (the PR), but actually focussed on the long term Global Corporatist (currently through the US gov't executive branch, military and intelligence services) goals. The sanctions funneled trade to corporations engratiated with the Administration (FASCISM RULES!), divided and brutalized the population and created an ideal, UN approved environment to take over Iraq and eventually the region. And Saddam takes the blame as the bad guy! (See Prescott Bush, American Corporatists and Hitler's rise and fall) I don't care what story we have to sell to the public, we at AOE say he is still the greatest regional intelligence asset we have! Sorry, OBL, but you are for domestic populace control purposes until our end-game grab for Indonesia, the Philippines and Gulf of Guinea Africa. Heck, we don't even really need your services in the latter! Nigeria anyone? Ivory Coast? Sao Tome? In lieu of a puppet dictator, AOE loves a good domestic 'insurrection' in an oil rich region that requires international 'assistance' (Thanks, now it's OUR OIL).

If we approved of War with Iran and Saddam's outdoor Auschwitz, approved his attack on Kuwait, approved of his continued power, approved of the sanctions and even sold him much of his WMD potential, how can we do anything but thank Saddam and take over his little oil patch for good, allowing the dear man to retire in the peace of a JOB WELL DONE?
